These Regulations may be cited as the National Curriculum (Exceptions for First, Second, Third and Fourth Key Stages) (England) Regulations 2013 and come into force on 1st September 2013.

The National Curriculum (Exceptions for First, Second, Third and Fourth Key Stages) (England) Regulations 2013
(1) Subject to the provisions of paragraph (2), the attainment targets, programmes of study and assessment arrangements specified in relation to each of the core and foundation subjects for the first, second, third and fourth key stages do not apply in relation to any pupil during the school year 2013 to 2014 .
(2) The attainment targets, programmes of study and assessment arrangements specified in relation to the core subjects continue to apply in relation to any pupil in —
(a) the first key stage; and
(b) the third and fourth year of the second key stage, that is, the period beginning at the same time as the school year in which the majority of pupils in his class attain the age of ten.
(3) The programmes of study specified in relation to the core subjects for the fourth key stage do not apply in relation to any pupil during the school year 2014 to 2015.
The National Curriculum (Exceptions for First, Second, Third and Fourth Key Stages) (England) Regulations 2012 are revoked.
