Section 1Citation and commencement
These Regulations may be cited as the Employment Tribunals (Interest on Awards in Discrimination Cases) (Amendment) Regulations 2013 and shall come into force on 29th July 2013.

Section 2Amendment of the Employment Tribunals (Interest on Awards in Discrimination Cases) Regulations 1996
In regulation 3 of the Employment Tribunals (Interest on Awards in Discrimination Cases) Regulations 1996 omit paragraph (2) and insert—
(2) Subject to paragraph (3), the rate of interest to be applied shall be, in England and Wales, the rate fixed, for the time being, by section 17 of the Judgments Act 1838 and, in Scotland, the rate fixed, for the time being, by section 9 of the Sheriff Courts (Scotland) Extracts Act 1892 .
Section 3Amendment of the Employment Tribunals (Interest on Awards in Discrimination Cases) Regulations 1996
Regulation 8 of the Employment Tribunals (Interest on Awards in Discrimination Cases) Regulations 1996 is deleted.
Section 4Transitional provisions
Articles 2 and 3 do not have effect in relation to a claim which is presented to an Employment Tribunal Office on or before 28th July 2013.
