Section 1 Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the School Governance (Roles, Procedures and Allowances) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2013 and come into force on 14th November 2013.

Section 2 Amendments to the School Governance (Roles, Procedures and Allowances) (England) Regulations 2013

(1) The School Governance (Roles, Procedures and Allowances) (England) Regulations 2013 are amended as follows.

(2) In regulation 13—

(a) in paragraph (4) for “and a copy of the agenda for the meeting” substitute “, a copy of the agenda for the meeting and any reports or other papers to be considered at the meeting”;

(b) in paragraph (5) for “the notice and the copy of the agenda” substitute “the notice, copy of the agenda and any reports or other papers to be considered”.

(3) In regulation 26(2)—

(a) omit “and” at the end of sub-paragraph (a);

(b) at the end of sub-paragraph (b) insert “and”;

(c) after sub-paragraph (b) insert “(c) any reports or other papers to be considered at the meeting”; and

(d) for “the notice and agenda” substitute “the notice, copy of the agenda and any reports or other papers to be considered”.

Section 3 Amendments to the School Governance (Roles, Procedures and Allowances) (England) Regulations 2013

In regulation 26, after paragraph (9) insert—

(10) Notwithstanding the requirements of regulation 22(2) and of paragraphs (4) and (5) of this regulation, the governing body may approve alternative arrangements for committee members to participate or vote at meetings of a committee including but not limited to by telephone or video conference.
