Section 1 Citation and interpretation

(1) This Order may be cited as the Local Transport Act 2008 (Commencement No. 3) Order 2013.

(2) In this Order “ the Act ” means the Local Transport Act 2008.

Section 2 Appointed day

The appointed day for the coming into force of section 4(1) (in so far as it relates to section 4(2) and 4(3)) and section 4(2) and (3) of the Act (removal of traffic commissioner for inability or misbehaviour) is 6th April 2013.

Section 3 Appointed day

(1) The appointed day for the coming into force of the provisions listed in paragraph (2) is the day after the day on which the Secretary of State first makes an Order under section 6 of the Act.

(2) The provisions are—

(a) section 2 of the Act (traffic commissioners);

(b) section 3(1) of the Act, in so far as it is not already in force;

(c) section 4(1) (in so far as it relates to section 4(4) to (9)) and section 4(4) to (9) of the Act (amendments of Schedule 2 to the PPVA 1981 ); and

(d) section 5 of the Act (transitional provision for existing traffic commissioners etc ).
