Section 1 Citation, commencement and interpretation

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Appointment of Chief Officers of Police (Overseas Police Forces) Regulations 2014.

(2) These Regulations come into force on 1st October 2014.

(3) In these Regulations “ the Act ” means the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011.

Section 2 Approved overseas police forces

For the purposes of section 42(3B) of, and paragraph 2(1B) of Schedule 8 to, the Act—

(a) the countries listed in the first column of the table in the Schedule are designated;

(b) the overseas police forces listed in the first column of the table in the Schedule are designated in relation to the corresponding country.

Section 3 Approved ranks in overseas police forces

For the purposes of section 42(3C) of, and paragraph 2(1C) of Schedule 8 to, the Act, the ranks listed in the second column of the table in the Schedule are designated as approved ranks in relation to their corresponding overseas police force listed in the first column.
