Section 1 Citation and commencement

(1) This Order may be cited as the Education (National Curriculum) (Attainment Targets and Programmes of Study) (England) (Amendment) (No. 3) Order 2014 and, subject to paragraph (2), comes into force on 1st September 2015.

(2) Article 3 comes into force on 1st August 2016.

Section 2 Amendments to the Education (National Curriculum) (Attainment Targets and Programmes of Study) (England) Order 2013

The Education (National Curriculum) (Attainment Targets and Programmes of Study) (England) Order 2013 is amended as follows.

In article 2(a) for “16th July 2014” substitute “2nd December 2014”.

Section 4 Amendments to the Education (National Curriculum) (Attainment Targets and Programmes of Study) (England) Order 2013

After article 3(6) insert—

(7) In relation to a pupil in the first year of the fourth key stage on or after 1st August 2016 but before 1st August 2017, it is directed that the provisions relating to programmes of study set out in the Framework Document have effect for the purposes of specifying the programme of study for the fourth key stage in relation to science.

(8) In relation to a pupil in the fourth key stage on or after 1st August 2017, it is directed that the provisions relating to programmes of study set out in the Framework Document have effect for the purposes of specifying the programme of study for the fourth key stage in relation to science.

Section 5 Amendments to the Education (National Curriculum) (Attainment Targets and Programmes of Study) (England) Order 2013

Article 6(2) is amended as follows—

(a) omit the word “or” in sub-paragraph (b), and

(b) in sub-paragraph (c)—

(i) for “1st August 2015” substitute “1st August 2016”, and

(ii) after the word “science” insert—

; or

(d) is in the final year of the fourth key stage on or after 1st August 2016 but before 1st August 2017 for the purposes of specifying the programme of study for the fourth key stage in relation to science
