Section 1 Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 (Alteration of Coroner Areas) (No. 2) Order 2017 and comes into force on 1st December 2017.

Section 2 Interpretation

In this Order—

“coroner area” means a coroner area specified in the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 (Coroner Areas and Assistant Coroners) Transitional Order 2013 .

Section 3 Altered coroner areas

(1) The coroner areas in paragraph (2) are combined to create the coroner area of Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen.

(2) The coroner areas of—

(a) Preston and West Lancashire;

(b) East Lancashire; and

(c) Blackburn, Hyndburn and Ribble Valley.
