Section 1 Citation, commencement and extent

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Weighing and Measuring Equipment and Meters (Amendment of Secondary Legislation) (EU Exit) Regulations 2018.

(2) These Regulations come into force on exit day.

(3) These Regulations extend to England and Wales and Scotland.

Section 2 Amendments to secondary legislation

The Schedule contains amendments to secondary legislation.

Section 1 Gas (Meters) Regulations 1983

In the Gas (Meters) Regulations 1983 in regulation 3A(1) omit “other than the United Kingdom”.

Section 2 Measuring Equipment (Liquid Fuel delivered from Road Tankers) Regulations 1983

(1) The Measuring Equipment (Liquid Fuel delivered from Road Tankers) Regulations 1983 are amended as follows.

(2) In regulation 55A—

(a) in the heading for “another member State” substitute “a member State”;

(b) in paragraph (1) for “another member State” substitute “a member State”;

(c) in paragraph (2)(b) omit “other than the United Kingdom”.

(3) In regulation 57 for “another member State”, in both places, substitute “a member State”.

Section 3 Weighing Equipment (Filling and Discontinuous Totalising Automatic Weighing Machines) Regulations 1986

(1) The Weighing Equipment (Filling and Discontinuous Totalising Automatic Weighing Machines) Regulations 1986 are amended as follows.

(2) In regulation 23A—

(b) in paragraph (1) for “another member State” substitute “a member State”;

(c) in paragraph (2)(b) omit “other than the United Kingdom”.

(3) In regulation 32A—

(1) The Meters (Approval of Pattern or Construction and Manner of Installation) Regulations 1998 are amended as follows.

(2) In regulation 2(1) in the definition of “EEA State” at the end insert “, but does not include the United Kingdom”.

(3) In regulation 5(5) omit “other”.

Section 9 Meters (Certification) Regulations 1998

(1) The Meters (Certification) Regulations 1998 are amended as follows.

(2) In regulation 2(1) in the definition of “EEA State” at the end insert “, but does not include the United Kingdom”.

(3) In regulation 3(1)(b) omit “other”.

(4) In regulation 4(1)(b) omit “other”.

(5) In regulation 8(1)(c) and (2) omit “other”.

(1) The Weighing Equipment (Automatic Gravimetric Filling Instruments) Regulations 2000 are amended as follows.
