Section 1Citation and commencement

(1) This Order may be cited as the Vale of White Horse (Electoral Changes) Order 2019.

(2) This article and article 2 come into force on the day after the day on which this Order is made.

(3) Article 3 comes into force—

(a) for the purpose of proceedings preliminary or relating to the election of councillors, on the day after the day on which this Order is made;

(b) for all other purposes, on the ordinary day of election of councillors in England in 2019.

(4) Article 4 comes into force—

(a) for the purpose of proceedings preliminary or relating to the election of councillors, on the day after the day on which this Order is made;

(b) for all other purposes, on the ordinary day of election of councillors in England in 2021.

Section 2Interpretation

(1) In this Order—

“the 2018 Order” means the Vale of White Horse District Council (Reorganisation of Community Governance) Order 2018 ;

“the map” means the map marked “Map referred to in the Vale of White Horse District Council (Reorganisation of Community Governance) Order 2018”, held by the Vale of White Horse District Council .

(2) Where a boundary is shown on the map as running along a road, railway line, footway, watercourse or similar geographical feature, it is to be treated as running along the centre line of the feature.

Section 3Alteration of district ward boundaries

(1) The area that ceases to be part of the parish of Fyfield & Tubney and becomes part of the parish of Kingston Bagpuize with Southmoor in consequence of the Vale of White Horse District Council (Reorganisation of Community Governance) Order 2015 , ceases to be part of the Thames district ward and becomes part of the Kingston Bagpuize district ward.

(2) Each area described in the first column of the table in Schedule 1 ceases to be part of the district ward listed in the corresponding entry in the second column of that table and becomes part of the district ward listed in the corresponding entry in the third column of that table.

Section 4Alteration of county electoral division boundaries

Each area described in the first column of the table in Schedule 2 ceases to be part of the electoral division listed in the corresponding entry in the second column of that table and becomes part of the electoral division listed in the corresponding entry in the third column of that table.
