Section 1 Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as The Coroners and Justice Act 2009 (Alteration of Coroner Areas) Order 2020 and comes into force on 1st April 2020.

Section 2 Interpretation

In this Order—

“coroner area” means a coroner area specified in the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 (Coroner Areas and Assistant Coroners) Transitional Order 2013 ;

“new coroner area” means the new coroner area resulting from the combining of the coroner areas as set out in Article 3.

Section 3 New coroner area

The following coroner areas are combined to create the new coroner area of Hampshire, Portsmouth and Southampton:

(a) Central Hampshire;

(b) North East Hampshire;

(c) Portsmouth and South East Hampshire; and

(d) Southampton and New Forest.
