Section 1 Citation and extent

(1) This Order may be cited as the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000 (Commencement No. 4 and Transitional Provisions) Order 2021.

(2) This Order extends to Northern Ireland only.

Section 2 Commencement

(1) Subject to paragraph (3), the following provisions of the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000 come into force on 11th August 2021—

(a) section 143 (details to appear on election material) ;

(b) paragraph 14 of Schedule 18 (replacement of section 110 of the Representation of the People Act 1983) .

(2) Subject to paragraph (3), section 1(1) and (2)(a) of the Election Publications Act 2001 ceases to have effect on 11th August 2021.

(3) The provisions specified in paragraph (1) do not have effect, and section 1(1) and (2)(a) of the Election Publications Act 2001 continues to have effect, in respect of any election for which the date of the poll specified in the notice of election is on or before 11th August 2021.
