Section 1 Citation, Commencement and Extent

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Jobseeker’s Allowance (Schemes for Assisting Persons to Obtain Employment) (Amendment) Regulations 2022 and come into force on 14th March 2022.

(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales and Scotland.

Section 2 Amendments of the Jobseeker’s Allowance (Schemes for Assisting Persons to Obtain Employment) Regulations 2013

(1) The Jobseeker’s Allowance (Schemes for Assisting Persons to Obtain Employment) Regulations 2013 are amended as follows.

(2) In regulation 3 (schemes for assisting persons to obtain employment)—

(a) omit paragraph (8);

(b) after paragraph (8C) insert—

(8D) The Restart Scheme is a scheme which provides support for a period of up to 12 months for claimants who have been unemployed for 9 months or more and reside in England and Wales.
