Section 1 Citation, commencement and extent

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Organic Production (Amendment) Regulations 2022, and come into force on 20th April 2022.

(2) These Regulations extend to England and Wales and Scotland.

Section 2 Commission Regulation (EC) No 889/2008

(1) Commission Regulation (EC) No 889/2008 laying down detailed rules for the implementation of Council Regulation (EC) No 834/2007 on organic production and labelling of organic products with regard to organic production, labelling and control is amended as follows.

(2) In Article 42(b) (use of non-organic animals), for “31 December 2020” substitute “31 December 2022” .

(3) In Annex 8, in the table in Section A (food additives, including carriers), in the row for which the entry in the first column is “E418”, in the fifth column, for “1 January 2022” substitute “1 January 2023” .
