Section 1 Citation, commencement and extent

(1) This Order may be cited as the Immigration (Exemption from Control) (Amendment) Order 2024 and comes into force on 15th July 2024.

(2) This Order extends to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Section 2 Amendment to the Immigration (Exemption from Control) Order 1972

In Article 4 of the Immigration (Exemption from Control) Order 1972 , after paragraph (m) insert—

(ma) the following representatives of the European Union:

(i) the President of the European Commission, being the President of the European Commission referred to in Article 17(6) of the Treaty on European Union signed at Maastricht on 7th February 1992 as it had effect immediately before IP completion day (“Treaty on European Union”);

(ii) the President of the European Council, being the President of the European Council referred to in Article 15(6) of the Treaty on European Union,

(iii) the High Representative for Foreign Affairs, being the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy referred to in Article 18 of the Treaty on European Union;
