Section 1 Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) (Amendment) Regulations 2025 and come into force on 30th March 2025.

Section 2 Extent

These Regulations extend to England and Wales.

Section 3 Amendment of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014

(1) The Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 are amended as follows.

(2) In regulation 1 (citation and commencement), omit paragraph (6) .

(3) In regulation 27 (review)—

(a) in paragraph (1) , for “1st April 2020” substitute “the end of each review period” ;

(b) after paragraph (2) insert—

(3) Subject to paragraph (4), in this regulation, “ review period ” means—

(a) the period beginning on 13th July 2023 and ending five years after that date;

(b) each subsequent period of five years beginning on the day after the date on which the immediately preceding review period came to an end.

(4) Where a report under paragraph (1)(c) is published before the end of the review period referred to in paragraph (3)(a) or (b), as the case may be, the next review period will commence on the day after the date of publication.
