The Coroners and Justice Act 2009 (Alteration of Coroner Areas) Order 2025

Section 1 Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 (Alteration of Coroner Areas) Order 2025 and comes into force on 1st July 2025.

Section 2 Interpretation

In this Order—

“ coroner area ” means a coroner area specified in the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 (Coroner Areas and Assistant Coroners) Transitional Order 2013 ;

“ new coroner area ” means the new coroner area resulting from the combining of the coroner areas set out in article 3.

Section 3 New coroner area

The following coroner areas are combined to create the new coroner area of Kent and Medway—

(a) Central and South East Kent,

(b) Mid Kent and Medway,

(c) North East Kent, and

(d) North West Kent.
