Section 1 Title and Commencement

(1) The title of this Order is the Bridgend (Brackla and Coity Higher) Order 2006.

(2) This Order comes into force on 1 April 2006, which is the appointed day for the purposes of the 1976 Regulations , except that for the purposes set out in Regulation 4 of the 1976 Regulations this Order comes into force on the day after that on which it is made.

Section 2 Interpretation

In this Order—

“the boundary map” (“ y map ffiniau ”) means the map prepared by the National Assembly for Wales and marked “Map of the Bridgend (Brackla and Coity Higher) Order 2006” and deposited in accordance with Regulation 5 of the 1976 Regulations;

“the 1976 Regulations” (“ Rheoliadau 1976 ”) means the Local Government Area Changes Regulations 1976 (as amended) ;

Section 3 Change to Community Boundaries

(1) Those parts of the community of Coity Higher shown as hatched areas “a”on the boundary map are separated from that community and form part of the community of Brackla.

(2) That part of the community of Brackla shown as hatched area “b” on the boundary map is separated from that community and forms part of the community of Coity Higher.

Section 4 Changes to Ward Boundaries

(1) The boundaries of Pendre Community Ward and Coity Community Ward in the community of Coity Higher are altered to be in alignment with the new community boundary.

(2) The boundary between Pendre Community Ward and Coity Community Ward in the community of Coity Higher is altered as shown on the boundary map marked as the “New Community Ward Boundary.”

Section 5 Consequential Changes to Electoral Divisions

The boundaries of the electoral divisions of Pendre, Coity and Brackla are altered to be in alignment with the new community boundary.
