Section 1 Title and interpretation

(1) The title of this Order is the Learner Travel (Wales) Measure 2008 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2009.

(2) In this Order “the Measure” (“ y Mesur ”) means the Learner Travel (Wales) Measure 2008.

Section 2 Appointed days

(1) The following provisions of the Measure come into force on 30 October 2009:

(a) section 1(4)(j) (main terms used in this Measure) for the purposes of section 12;

(b) section 12 (travel behaviour code);

(c) section 26 (repeals) in so far as it relates to the provisions of Schedule 2 below;

(d) in Schedule 2 (repeals), the repeal of paragraph 4 of Schedule 10 to the Education and Inspections Act 2006.

(2) The following provisions of the Measure come into force on 4 January 2010:

(a) section 13 (enforcement of travel behaviour code: pupils at relevant schools);

(b) section 14 (enforcement of travel behaviour code: withdrawal of travel arrangements);

(c) section 17(4) (co-operation: information or other assistance).
