The Local Government and Elections (Wales) Act 2021 (Commencement No. 3 and Transitional Provision) Order 2021

Section 1 Title and interpretation

(1) The title of this Order is the Local Government and Elections (Wales) Act 2021 (Commencement No. 3 and Transitional Provision) Order 2021.

(2) In this Order, “the 2021 Act” means the Local Government and Elections (Wales) Act 2021.

Section 2 Provisions coming into force on 1 May 2021

The following provisions of the 2021 Act come into force on 1 May 2021 so far as those provisions are not already in force—

(a) section 47;

(b) section 49;

(c) Schedule 4.

Section 3 Transitional provision

(1) In this article, “the 1972 Act” means the Local Government Act 1972 .

(2) Any notice or other document published or sent before 1 May 2021 in accordance with the provisions specified in paragraph (3) as modified by the Local Authorities (Coronavirus) (Meetings) (Wales) Regulations 2020 in relation to a meeting held on or after 1 May 2021, is to be treated as having been published or sent in accordance with those provisions as amended by Schedule 4 to the 2021 Act.

(3) The provisions are—

(a) section 1 of the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960 ;

(b) Part 5A of the 1972 Act;

(c) Schedule 12 to the 1972 Act.
