Section 1 Title and coming into force

(1) The title of these Regulations is the Equality Act 2010 (Relevant Welsh Authorities) (Amendment) Regulations 2023.

(2) These Regulations come into force on 4 September 2023.

Section 2 Amendments to Schedule 19, Part 2 (relevant Welsh authorities)

In Part 2 of Schedule 19 to the Equality Act 2010—

(a) omit “The Higher Education Funding Council for Wales or Cyngor Cyllido Addysg Uwch Cymru.”;

(b) in the appropriate place, insert “The Commission for Tertiary Education and Research or Y Comisiwn Addysg Drydyddol ac Ymchwil.”

Section 3 Transitional provision

Until section 23 of the Tertiary Education and Research (Wales) Act 2022 comes into force, the reference in Part 2 of Schedule 19 to the Equality Act 2010 to the Commission for Tertiary Education and Research is to be read as including the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales.
