DEEP TANK LOADING FITNESS CERTIFICATE
THIS IS TO CERTIFY THAT the undersigned surveyor did, at the request of the Master Captain
John B.Smith and as instructed by the Agents, Eastern Shipping Agency Ltd, attend on board
MV WAYFARER (7522 tons gross of Queens town) on 22 March 1993 and subsequent dates,
whilst berthed port side to at the Outer Wharf, Port Queenstown, for the purpose of surveying
the following cargo oil tanks situated in No.4 Hold and intended for the carriage of tallow in
bulk to Dreamland.
Deep tank “A” – for a high grade edible tallow
Deep tank “B” – for a low grade inedible tallow
I now report as follows :
THAT the above mentioned tanks were tested under air pressure to 0.25 atmospheres during
which time the boundary bulkheads, tank lids, and all other connections were found
tight.
THAT the tanks were examined internally and found to be free from rust, dirt and excessive
moisture. The double bottom tanks in way were pressed up to the height of the
weather deck and the tank tops found to be tight.
THAT the heating coils in the tanks were tested under steam to their maximum working
pressure and found to be tight.
THAT in the opinion of the undersigned, at the time of examination, “A” Tank was fit to carry
a cargo of edible tallow in bulk and “ B” Tank was fit to carry a cargo of inedible
tallow in bulk.
THAT “A” Tank containing edible tallow was also examined by Mr. K.Jones of the
Department of Agriculture and sealed by him on completion of survey.
