Read the passage below and write a comment of about 220 words on its argument.
Try to use some examples to illustrate your points.
To an individual, communication is a natural, necessary, omnipresent activity. A
person enters into communication relationships because he wants to relate to the
environment, especially the human environment, around him. As Sapir wrote in the
passage we quoted earlier, society is a network of such relationships maintained chiefly by
communication. To an observer communication seems to flow through the social system
like blood through the individual cardiovascular system, serving the whole organism,
concentrating now on one part, now on another according to need, maintaining contact and
balance and health. We are so accustomed to living in an ocean of communication that we
can hardly imagine living without it.
